CHORLEY FC U19 FACE OFF AGAINST ECCLESHILL UNITED U19

FT

This mid-table clash saw 7th placed Eccleshill United travel to the Westway Sports Hub to face 6th placed Chorley FC.

Chorley arguably would’ve been the more confident side going into this fixture with three wins from six games with a game in hand on Eccleshill.

The travellers would have seen this as a chance to close the gap between their hosts as they currently trail behind by four points.

With Chorley having that extra game in hand, highlighted the importance of coming out with a good result.

This was a game however that produced very little goal scoring opportunities and little chances were created.

The defences were up for the fight with both teams managing to keep out the opposition attackers.

Both teams will no doubt go away happy with the clean sheet but frustrated about not managing to create a moment of magic to claim the three points.

Chorley will come away the happier side after this meeting as they have a game in hand on FC United of Manchester who remain only two points behind the 5th place team.

Magpies’ Andy Preece said: “A point was a fair result”.
