CITY OF LIVERPOOL LEAVE IT LATE!



City of Liverpool grab a late equaliser against Chorley FC with the final kick of the ball.


City of Liverpool welcomed Chorley to the Heron Eccles Football Hub hoping to grab their second win of the season.


Chorley were looking for a victory against the struggling home side to start closing the gaps between the teams above and with their games in hand its vital that they make the most of them.


The weather made this encounter difficult with the game becoming scrappy with both teams struggling to play their style of football.


The away side took the lead through a well taken freekick just before the half time whistle.


The second half saw both sides come out and create good chances and playing better football.


Chorley looked like they were just about to hold onto the lead but in with the final kick of the game the host found a goal.


Both teams will be overall disappointed with the result with one point going to each of them.


Chorley, however, will be more disappointed team with the outcome of the 1-1 result as they couldn’t hold on until the final whistle.


Chorley’s Andy Preece said: “Disappointing to be so close but probably a fair result.”
