GERRARD IS BETTER THAN LAMPARD!

Updated: Nov 10, 2022

These two have had outstanding and highly decorated careers so how can you possibly compare them let alone outright pick one right? Wrong.

Gerrard is better than Lampard, and I’m going to tell you why.

No one can argue with the fact that Frank Lampard has had an exceptional career and is one of the best midfielders of his generation and to ever grace the Premier League.

He debuted at West Ham United aged 17, in 2001 he moved to Chelsea where he became their all-time top goal scorer. Frank made his international debut in 1999 and played a total of 106 times for his country scoring 29 times.

Lampard found the back of the net an astonishing 267 times whilst also setting up his teammates 176 times. Lampard has 13 major trophies in his collection as well as 2005 footballer of the year award.

Even with Frank’s outstanding achievements and goal-scoring records Steven Gerrard still takes first place.

Gerrard made his debut for his boyhood club Liverpool at the age of 18, five years later he became club captain. He won his first England cap at 20 and gained a further 113 caps becoming England’s fourth most-capped player of all time.

Steven scored 191 goals and set up 165. He’s got 11 major trophies to his collection as well as also having 2009 footballer of the year award.

Gerrard wins it because he stayed at Liverpool when he had the biggest teams in Europe chasing his signature. Lampard was constantly surrounded by world-class players when Gerrard single-handily carried Liverpool for years. People argue that Gerrard’s lack of a Premier League medal rules him out but you and I both that he could have moved and won one.

Gerrard is arguably the biggest clutch player ever; he’s been involved in two incredible finals where Liverpool we’re losing and came back to win on penalties. The miracle in Istanbul where The Reds came back against Italian giants AC Milan and what’s known as the Gerrard final where Liverpool beat West Ham in the FA Cup final.

So, if you were asking me to pick one to go into a must-win game and odds be against you… I choose Steven Gerrard, every time.
